ABOUT LCGI
LCGI (Leadership & Church Growth International) is a not-for-profit ministry of members of churches of Christ.
Mission Statement
The mission of LCGI is to provide materials and services that equip Christians for more effective service and that accelerate the spiritual and numerical growth of the Lord’s church.
Statement of Faith and Policy
The leaders of LCGI accept only the Bible as the authority in religion. As imperfect humans, we do not claim infallibility. We ask for brotherly love and patience as we seek to learn and obey God’s will more perfectly. We gladly extend such to others who share our allegiance. We promote harmony and unity – not strife and division. We do not promote the peculiar beliefs or programs of any one congregation or segment of the brotherhood. Our intention is to promote ideas, strategies and methods which are compatible with Biblical teaching and which enable churches to fulfill God’s will.
Leadership & Personnel
LCGI is directed by faithful Christian leaders who are members of churches of Christ in various locations. Present directors are David Aday, Tuscumbia, AL; Wiley Dean, Haleyville, AL; Jack Henson, Russellville, AL; Jerry Humphries, Florence, AL; Ricky Rogers, Killen, AL.
Jerry Humphries, executive director also works extensively in materials preparation, teaching and preaching. His background includes business and Bible college administration/teaching. Churches he served as resident preacher grew rapidly. He has spoken at major brotherhood events and in approximately 700 meetings, campaigns and workshops across the U. S. and abroad. He is the author of widely used church growth publications.
Oma Norris has been the LCGI office manager since 1994. She’s an elder’s wife and a competent, dedicated Bible teacher and worker for Christ.
Other faithful, competent Christian leaders assist with materials preparation, presenting seminars and in other ways.
Financial Information
LCGI is supported by contributions from churches of Christ and individuals. It is approved for tax exemption by the IRS so that gifts from individuals are tax-deductible. Contributors are kept informed. Receipts for services and materials which comprise a small percentage of our revenue are used to help defray program costs. Many small, mission type churches receive our materials and services without cost to them.
Some LCGI Advantages
- It helps fill a major gap in brotherhood Christian education – it provides practical equipping for leaders and workers at the congregational level.
- It accelerates spiritual and numerical growth.
- It enables mission churches to become self-supporting sooner.
- It promotes love, joy and unity.
- It reaches many leaders and workers who would not otherwise get this type of urgently needed help.
- It is highly cost-effective. Many have said that LCGI accomplishes more per dollar spent than any program they are familiar with.
Concern for Small Churches
The majority of churches of Christ have fewer than 100 members. We are glad that many larger churches have been benefited by our services. However, we have a special concern for small churches, especially those in mission type areas.
History and Plans
Since its beginning in 1983, LCGI has reached into most states of the U. S. and into more than 30 other countries. Several thousand churches have been benefited by our services and materials. Many thousands of Christians have been equipped for more effective spiritual service.
Many additional churches across the world urgently need our services. LCGI has great potential for affecting the history of the church positively. We are committed to expand and continue this ministry as God and His people enable us.
